My name is Rod Daigle. I have been a guitar repair tech for approximately the last ten years and it is truly what I love to do. I do not not call myself a luthier because I have yet to build a fretted instrument from scratch. It is something I would really enjoy but requires specialty tools not in my possession, maybe someday. My repair shop is in my home so this affords me the luxury of somewhat low overhead which I am able to pass on to my customers.
I am licensed and insured and a current member of A.S.I.A. (Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans) and G.A.L. (Guild of American Luthiers). Please give me a call or send an email and we'll setup an appointment. I will provide a free estimate for any services needed on your acoustic or electric fretted instrument. I am just a short distance from exit 4 off Interstate 195 in Somerset, MA.
FRETWORK
I use a homemade version of the Dan Erlewine/Brian Galloup style guitar neck jig. I built mine several years ago using mostly scrap materials and it is my interpretation of their design. Being a product of the extensive time and effort which they have given to the research and development of this great neck jig, a tech is able to achieve precise fret tolerances when used correctly for fret repair and replacement. Stewart MacDonald, a luthier supply house in Ohio, sells a retail version of the neck jig.
For me the work I do on any instrument that comes through my shop is a labor of love and taken very seriously, EVERY fret job if done correctly can be one of the most important and inconspicuous upgrades that you can make. Whether it's leveling a few frets or a complete re-fret I guarantee that I will do my best to insure you will be satisfied with the results. All forms of guitar, mandolin, and banjo are welcome; electric or acoustic, American or off-shore, old or new. If it doesn't play to your liking, for any reason....action too high, grooved frets, strings buzz, won't stay in tune, can’t tune to pitch, etc, I will do my best to get it well again.
Please give me a call at the number listed or send an email and we'll set up an appointment to put your instrument back to good health and be the one you will once again love to play.

With attention to details whether your guitar is vintage, brand new, or somewhere in-between meticulous care is taken to maintain it's value without sacrificing playability or sound quality. Installation of pickups, potentiometers, switches, shielding, jacks, grounding, etc. is done using only the highest quality replacement parts, solder, and soldering equipment.
This includes new strings, clean and restore fretboard, adjust and lubricate truss rod to set neck relief, set string height and radius at nut and saddle to match the fretboard, set intonation using strobe tuner.

© 2006 Buzz Feiten Design, Inc. All rights reserved. The Buzz Feiten Tuning System solves tuning and
intonation problems with 2 simple steps:
1. Shelf NutOur exclusive Buzz Feiten Tuning System (BFTS) Shelf Nut moves the strings closer to the first fret according to our Patented Formula. This eliminates sharp notes at the first three frets.
Top View :
Each Shelf Nut is precision machined from high quality bone for superb tonal response. Our Lightning Bolt Logo is machined into the top of each Shelf Nut for authenticity.
Side View :
The strings are moved closer to the first fret a precise distance based on the scale length, fret width and string gauge of your guitar. The slight overhang of our nut (the 'Shelf') does this without altering your guitar in any way. So it's even fine for vintage guitars.
2. Intonation
Your Bridge :
Your bridge is Adjusted to BFTS Pitch Offset. Your guitar's bridge is adjusted according to our Patented Pitch Offsets, creating balanced intonation over the entire fingerboard every fret - every string.
